Telegram bot written in Python, which monitors a given website for changes using an efficient from-scratch implementation of a diff-like difference tracker. Upon detecting changes, it sends a message via the Telegram bot @websiteBot_bot   to any people who subscribed to updates about a given website.

The project consists of several notable parts:

• the “frontend” is written in Python using the python-telegram-bot   library
• the difference algorithm is also implemented in Python and utilizes dynamic programming techniques
• data is persisted in a PostgreSQL database and interacted with using the psycopg3   library
• continuous operation, server networking and VPN setup, and restarts after fatal execution errors are implemented via a shell script that is registered as a systemd module

A social media app to exchange audio messages and meet new people online. Originally conceived during the MSc-level lecture “From Science to Startup”.

My personal standard LaTeX preamble, written as a modular package. This .sty file intended to replace the dozens (sometimes hundreds!) of lines in a neatly configured LaTeX document with just one - it handles all the (my) standard imports and settings so you can concentrate on writing the actual text instead of copy-pasting together preamble code snippets from previous documents.

Available presets include “base”, “extra”, “experiment”, “script”, “compsci”, “probability”, “complete”, and “all”.

The package and all its included imports, features, and settings can be activated by copying the .sty file to your document tree (or making it a shared resource in your preferred LaTeX editor) and placing \usepackage[options and/or preset]{atlas-preamble} in your document preamble.

SwiftBar   plugin to establish and monitor the status of VPN connections via OpenConnect   with an entry in the macOS menu bar. The AnyConnect client is not needed for this script to connect to VPN servers. Credentials are stored securely with the macOS keychain.

SwiftBar   plugin to see the climate clock deadline from climateclock.world   via an entry in the macOS menu bar. The countdown displayed signifies the date on which global warming will exceed 1.5°C following current projections.

My modular zsh configuration, including both environment setup (aliases, path configuration, etc.) and custom functions.

Custom functions include, among others:

• a set of functions for easily encrypting/decrypting files with gnupg
• a set of functions for creating clean zip/tar archives on macOS (no macOS-specific hidden files, no extraneous parent folders)
• a function to interactively set the name of a picture file to any of the (sometimes differing) EXIF timestamps included within its metadata

This is a 3D-printed model of my brain, created from an MRI image set.
Below are the steps I followed to achieve this (based on this guide I used  ):

  Raw DICOM images
  Slicer   to preview and export
  freesurfer   to analyze the data and generate/reconstruct a 3D surface of the brain
  MeshLab   to clean up the 3D surface before printing
  PrusaSlicer   to generate the G-code for the 3D printer

Projects

I have several other projects, either still in the idea stage or already archived, some of which can be found on my GitHub page.
Topics that have passed the idea stage (but may nonetheless not be public) include, among others:
macOS homebrew formulas, logo and merch design, 3D printing of lithophanes (thin, translucent, 3d-printed plaques, which reveal the image when held against a light source), Emoji proposals to the Unicode Consortium, and QoL improvements in the form of small scripts for my regular workflows.

Sports & Hobbies

I am an avid runner, but I enjoy regular strength training as well. In the winter, my sport of choice is alpine skiing, and in the warmer months I have started playing/learning tennis.
